The Concussion Conundrum

This title sounds like a Nancy Drew mystery, doesn't it?

So if you read my last post, you know that I've had a concussion since Wednesday evening. At first, I was all "woohoo! long weekend! I can do mini stuff for 4 days straight!"

Unfortunately, I had no idea what a concussion actually entailed.

In a word? Television. Lots and lots of television (side note: Netflix, I love/hate you for having so many episodes of Grey's Anatomy).

I never thought I'd actually choose watching TV over hanging in my craft room, but that's all I had the energy for. At one point on Friday I started feeling a little better so I went to my desk and sat down... only to stare at the wall for 15 minutes before giving up and crashing on the couch again.

Finally yesterday I had a bit more spunk. I still wasn't in the mood for an involved project (sorry, Whitebrush Manor!), but I did putter a bit. I added leaves and flowers to the vine that'll go in my Tuscan room box. I'll probably fill it in with a few more leaves later, but I didn't want to overdo them until I placed the flowers.
I cleaned some hot glue off of a planter that I picked up from Hobby Lobby a while ago. This did involve using an x-acto knife, but I'm no longer on pain meds and went very, very slowly. I'll add an aging wash to match up the colors where the glue was.
And I started a needle punch rug!
If it turns out, it will probably go in the Seaside Beach Cottage because of the coral-y color scheme. Since this was a practice run, I decided to use some 'extra' floss that I don't have a specific plan for.

It takes a while, but it's interesting (for now) and I can even do it in the living room while watching... you guessed it... TV. :)

  1. I just read about your bang zoom almost to the moon! I am sorry to hear you had a spill but it is good your head stayed on, I hear its important to have one of those when doing miniatures..i think..where is my head?

Your doing a good amount of work keeping yourself busy in the rest time, that rug is looking amazing!

Feel better, hugs and rest ~J
