I'm baaaack! And just in time for Halloween, too! I promise I won't be spewing pea soup, though. Lots to tell everyone, and a couple of projects in the works. More soon--hopefully this weekend!

The Miniature Showcase is held each year here in Dallas, usually the first weekend of May. I had Such. Great. Hopes. for this year's miniature event. Alas, they were not to be realized (in totality, anyway). I should've known/expected something to be up once Rik's class was cancelled--especially since I was able to sweet-talk my hubster into letting me spend that kind of cheddah on the enrollment fee. (BTW, Rik has gone through surgery just fine and is well on the way to recovery... hooray!) But no. Silly me, I had to continue thinking everything would turn out just peachy with a side of keen.

I love making flowers. Like, love LOVE making flowers. So I thought I'd share an arrangement that I made recently for LaJuanna, who is one of the Board members of our miniature club. Her birthday was Wednesday, so I gave it to her at our meeting on Monday night.

It's already February! 1/6 of the year has gone by. I'm not even sure how to begin feeling about that, though I do know I should blog more. Ahem. Anyway, this weekend I went to the Society of American Miniaturists (SAM) birthday party in Austin, Texas. It was great fun meeting many of the ladies I'd heard about, and there were lots of samples of past birthday party projects. Apologies in advance for the photo quality. The lighting in the meeting room wasn't the best, and most of them were in dust cases and I couldn't get away from the reflections. This quilt shop was one of my favorites. I love the way Kendra did the outside of the box.
